Hello! My name is Ms. Covert, and I am so excited to be a first-grade teacher! This will be my fourth year teaching and my fourth year at Wyland Elementary! We’re going to have such a great year! 

I graduated from Missouri Baptist University with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, and I recently completed my Master of Arts in Education and Innovation from Webster University.

I have two dogs: Percy and Ginger, who are both 7-year-old Siberian huskies. I absolutely adore my pups, they’re my world and there is never a dull (or dog-hair-free) moment with them! 

Outside of school, I love to read books, craft, complete D.I.Y projects, and spend time with my family. I love to take road trips and travel to new places, I'm always looking for my next adventure!

Hello! My name is J'von Halbert and I teach 1st grade. This will be my 5th year teaching at Wyland. I taught 3rd grade my first year and have been in 1st grade for the last 4 years! Before coming to Wyland I taught Pre-Kindergarten for 3 years and worked in Kindergarten classrooms, as well. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in TESOL (Teaching Speakers of Other Languages).

I have 2 dogs, Marley and Alaska and I love to be outside with them! Outside of school, I love to read and hang out with friends and family. First grade is my favorite grade to teach! All year long, we learn so much together and make so much growth by the end of the year. I also have lots of books in my classroom, so we will all learn to become great readers! I am so excited about having a great year with everyone and I'll see you all very soon!!

Hi there! My name is Maya Ware and I teach first grade here at Wyland Elementary. This will be my third year teaching and I am excited to continue in first grade! I graduated from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and with a certificate in Special Education.   

When I am not teaching, you can find me reading a good book, hanging out with friends and family, watching Saint Louis City soccer games, traveling, or having a quiet night at home with my cat Luna!     

I am so happy I get to teach first grade! I fell in love with teaching first grade during student teaching as well as last school year so I cannot wait for another great year! I am looking forward to getting to know and work with all of you!

Hi, my name is Hanna Wims and I am a first grade teacher! I spent the last five years teaching kindergarten and I am excited to join the first grade team this year! I graduated from the University of Missouri- Columbia with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Go Tigers! Currently, I am earning my master's in Curriculum and Instruction. 

Teaching is my passion! I value teaching and learning through play, creativity, and exploration.

I was born and raised in Saint Louis! Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends by the pool. I have a Bernese Mountain Dog named Ducky! When I am not at school, you will see us walking around Forest Parks, going on hikes, or swimming!
