Hello, my name is Katie Lange (previously Ms. Johnson) and I am so excited to be teaching your kindergartener this year! This is my 5th year at Wyland and 12th year of teaching. I have had the joy of teaching kindergarten for 11 of the 12 years. As a Kindergarten Teacher, I strive to create a classroom that incorporates play and discovery into the learning process, as well as helps students grow both socially and emotionally.

I graduated from the University of Central Missouri where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I am also certified in Early Childhood Special Education.

I have lived in St. Louis my entire life and enjoy spending time with my husband, family, and friends. I love being outside, especially hiking, playing sand volleyball, and doing yoga. 

There are so many wonderful learning milestones that happen during Kindergarten, and I look forward to working with our newest Wyland students as they begin their school journey.

My name is Maddy Neil and I am so excited for another great year of learning! This will be my third year teaching Kindergarten at Wyland Elementary. I graduated from Maryville University where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I also received my Master's in Early Childhood Education. As a kindergarten teacher, I encourage discovery through play as well as help my students to love learning about the world around them.

I have moved around my entire life but the place I call home is California. In my free time, I love to hike and find new local cafes where I can drink coffee and read a book along with traveling the world. I love animals and have a cat named Winnie who likes to be the center of attention. 

My family means everything to me and I enjoy seeing my mom, brother, and sister-in-law for brunches and hikes. I like to think of my classroom as one big family where we laugh and grow together! 

 

Pam Shirrell

Hello, my name is Pam Shirrell and I LOVE teaching Kindergarten! This will be my 9th year teaching at Wyland. I have been teaching for a total of 30 years and have all been in Kindergarten. Every year my goal is to help every child reach their highest potential, see their amazing progress, and to find joy in learning.

I graduated from Southeast Missouri State University where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I have also attended Maryville University where I received my Master's in Education and I went to several different universities to achieve my +30.

I have lived in St. Louis since I was 3 years old and I come from a family of teachers, including my parents, who are both retired teachers. I have been married for 24 years to my husband, Travis, and have twins, Trevor and Kailey.

I am a dog lover and we have two dogs, Cash and Dobby. I love to play the card game Pinochle with my family, kayak with my father in the summer, do puzzles with my mother, and drink a nice hot French vanilla coffee every morning.

Hi, my name is Hanna Wims and I am a kindergarten teacher. This will be my fifth year teaching Kindergarten at Wyland! I graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Go Tigers!

Teaching is my passion! I value teaching and learning through play, creativity, and exploration.

I was born and raised in Saint Louis! Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends by the pool. I have an Aussiedoodle named Oopsie! We love to watch movies and go for long walks in Forest Park!
